Recipe type: Breakfast
Serves: 3-4

  • 3 hot cross buns, sliced
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of milk
  • ½ teaspoon Kirkland pure vanilla
  • Kirkland pure maple syrup
  • ¼ teaspoon Kirkland sea salt
  • cinnamon
  • butter for frying
  • whipped cream (optional)
  • fried bacon (optional)

  1. In a bowl briefly whip the eggs and then mix in the milk, vanilla and salt.
  2. Soak the sliced buns in the milk/egg mixture until covered on both sides, but try not to saturate them.
  3. In a large fry pan over medium heat, melt the butter, spread it everywhere and then fry the soaked slices until golden on each side (you can do several at a time)
  4. When done, sprinkle the slices with cinnamon, drizzle with maple syrup and top with whipped cream and/or bacon.
